As a Linux Operations Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for the operational support and maintenance of our platform. You ensure maximum uptime of our deployments. You are part of the escalation, issue triage and technical support processes.  You assist with prioritization of technical issues, escalations to engineering team, and coordinating resolutions.

Who you are
  • You are knowledgeable of networks, routers, switches, firewalls and wireless equipment.
  • Responsible for monitoring, supporting, and administering production environment with initial onboarding, upgrades and recovery.
  • You follow production support processes to document day to day support activities, contribute to knowledge base and improve our overall accuracy and efficiency.
  • You focus on customer service, supporting our24/7/365 always-up, always available production services.
  • You think ‘outside the box’, identifying opportunities that can improve efficiency of operations and IT processes.
  • You are detailed, developing and maintaining system documentation, including diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions.
  • You possess expert level experience with server-level operating systems Unix/Linux, facilitating high-level engineering.
  • You are analytical, diagnosing and trouble shooting complex technical issues.
  • You are self-driven, motivated and results-oriented, customer-centric mindset.
  • You transform ambiguity into clarity.

What you'll need
  • Minimum 5 years proven work experience as aLinux Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or similar in a Linux production environment;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology,Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Strong developments experience with Shell, Python etc.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of distributed storage systems such as, CEPH, EMC ECS, HDFS and protocols like FC, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS etc.
Bonus if you have
  • Knowledge and experience of OpenStack production design, operations, and troubleshooting.
